The big advantage of the above approach (vs makemkv as you describe) is that anydvd will remove disc based protections so allow it to be used a disc, and those are mostly out of scope for makemkv (which really only handles aacs/bd+ as that's all that's needed to convert to mkv). my workaround for that until now has been toġ) insert disc into anydvd (in case its key has never been seen by anydvd before) to get it to get the VUKĢ) use multiple discs to get a complete ddrescue copyģ) mount the image created in #2 in a software mounter to get anydvd to decrypt. ![]() Hopefully I'll get my hands on it sooner than later. This way one could make a partial backup with another drive (or ddrescue or just copy files) and then, when selecting the folder as a backup destination almost instantly "fix" it - MakeMKV would copy only missing/damaged parts and would figure everything automatically. However, by using AACS content hash table it is rather trivial to see if the folder already contains the backup for the same disc, and in this case write only missing parts. Right now, when you make a backup, if you select a non-empty destination folder then backup would just fail. Read/write any UHD 4K Blu-Ray, expecially triple or quad layer, while LG sometimes fails. ![]() Pioneer BDR-S12UHT (or 212UBK) can read even "stones". ![]()
